Skating by Stephen Mead

One of my first forays into video using an early x ray collage piece, "Skating" is an excerpt from
"Quilt Suite" . In the do-it-yourself tradition of folk art, this home-made movie includes spoken word poetry, paintings, photos and digitized images, all meant to pay tribute to the AIDS Memorial quilt, a subject dear to the my heart having spent years as a direct care-giver to an HIV+ population in the 1990s.
